Our friend Lambert has decided to part with his E30 320is. These are the details of the car.

I am the 3rd owner since 2002. No rust whatsoever, the car always slept indoor in Southern Europe. It has A/C, front power windows and sunroof, and the OEM S14B20 engine, coupled to the OEM Getrag 265/5 dogleg close ratio gearbox. And 25% LSD. It is like a 325i with an M3 engine and drivetrain.

• The paint: (DiamantSchwartz Metallic) is still nice, but being original it has few little marks here and there. In my opinion the only thing that would really need repainting is the front M-Technic spoiler, I got it like that and never had the time to paint it. This BMW has never been involved in crashes, the car is straight and everything on her is new.

• Reason for sale: I moved to UK in 2006 and since then the car has been sitting on 4 axle stands. As the plan was to bring her with me I changed everything before bringing her to the unknown country, then things went differently and the 320is remained in Northern Italy, Verona province.

• The car has new tyres (Bridgestone Potenza front and Toyo T1r Proxes rear) new brakes, new shocks front and rear. Supersprint exhaust. Eibach springs, and the original ones are included in the sale. Many spare parts are included in the sale. The rarest is a spare head with all the bits. There is then a spare AFM, a spare tacho, additional bits to complete the M-Tech interior (as the OBC2 in English including the whole harness and stalker, and the black headlining for 4 door - sunroof models) many other spares, all in the boot.

• Although on axle stands she has been started periodically and got also a new 74Ah battery in 2009. Needless to say that because it is stored in a climate controlled place the battery still works perfectly. Stored in total darkness so the sunlight didn’t have any chance to damage seats, tyres and dash (which is uncracked).

• The only thing it will need, prior to being driven, is an oil change: oil filter, fuel filter and 5 litres of Castrol 10W40 are inside the car. No air filter as it has a 1000Km old K&N panel filter inside its airbox. The car has few glitches that in my opinion are offset by the quantity/rarity of the spares.

Our friend Adam has his E30 325ic up for sale. Here are the details of his car as posted in his ad on Craigslist.

“I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about it and the vert has to go. I honestly love the car but not having a garage to park it in is just a losing proposition. I thought the hardtop would solve the problem but a little moisture still leaks in. So I need to get a coupe.

The car comes with complete records from the PO and the time I’ve had it. The PO was a 60+ yo lady who drove it in the summer around the Willamette Valley’s wine country. The husband bought her a more “practical BMW” and then sold this one to me. The previous owner had owned it since 1992 and only put about 1000 miles on it per year for last decade. Since I’ve had it, I’ve gone through and had most of the old brittle rubber parts replaced since this was such an infrequently driven car.

The soft top has some small holes (water leaks, nothing bigger than a toothpick sized hole) and the rear window is ripped and needs replacing. I recently drove the car from Portland to Trinity Lake and back (1k est) and it drove wonderfully while averaging 25 mpg.”

• There are some small door dings that could be remedied via paintless dent repair.
• The accessory belts should be replaced soon
• There’s a small vacuum leak, only noticeable at low RPM
• Passenger heated seat stopped working last month
• VETERAN PLATES not included, so you’ll need a trip permit to drive it away

The price with hardtop is $5500 or $4000 without the hardtop. I’m willing to trade for a BMW that’s interesting and well-sorted. I do lean toward older. But, will consider your trade offers. This should go without saying, but not convertibles please.

I’m firm on price, as I know this car is well worth the money. I really wouldn’t be selling it at all, but letting it sit out in the elements is killing the OCD part of me.

I WILL NOT SELL THE HARDTOP SEPARATELY, unless the car sells without it. If you ask, don’t expect a reply.

I bought this car in June 2007 from the prior owner in New Jersey who used the car primarily for DE and autocross events. At the time, the car was stripped down for lightweight advantages and only contained the bare essential performance upgrades and safety equipment needed for performance at the track.

Though my goals for the car were for more street use, it came in great shape and had most of the go-fast parts already installed. First, I removed the roll cage, replaced the solid suspension components and mounts with urethane, and removed the EPO switch. Then I went overboard with the engine and driveline, upgrading from it’s already potent condition with a hot cam and twin Weber 40 carburetors to a fully rebuilt, stroked and bored (2.0 to 2.3L), beast.

The rest is sort of unfortunate, as I never got it fully sorted out and tuned. Then I moved from FL to CO, where I had even more trouble with the finances to support the re-tuning and sorting out some bugs. I just now finally got it sorted. The major culprit ended up being too much voltage, which was cured by replacing the ignition control module. It now purrs like a kitten, but needs further tuning to unhide the beast within. The time span between the rebuild and now stretches back about 4 years, and have unfortunately just lost emotional interest and have already moved on to a ‘91 Porsche 964. I can only afford one car, so this one has to move on to someone else’s care.

I’m not selling a perfect car, but a car with lots of goodies and tunability, so I’ve priced it to reflect this. I haven’t added up the receipts yet, but it’s probably nearing $25k in total. It’s a little finicky when starting cold, but once warmed up, it runs great. Depending on your desires, I believe it can be fine-tuned for much better performance. It handles like a dream. I love the suspension and how it feels in the corners. The fully rebuilt motor has approx 3,000 miles.

Unfortunately the expired registration may cause an issue for getting it to a mechanic for a proper PPI. There’s one close by that I’d risk driving to, but it’s not a European car specialist and I have no history with them.

Our friend Paul currently has a few sets of Minilite Alloys up for sale.

I have for sale 4 genuine Minilite alloy wheels fitted with Falken 185x65 R15 - all tyres have good tread left and alloys have their Minilite centre caps intact - Alloys are unmarked and although have been on my 2002 are in as new condition - no marks or damage.  These alloys were specially made for the Classic BMW 2002 so have the correct offset for a standard narrow body non turbo arched car -
